Trex Company has purchased SC Company, a major manufacturer and supplier of custom architectural railings and staging solutions based in Brooklyn Park, Minn. The company says that the purchase will provide the foundation for the launch of Trex Commercial Products, a subsidiary of Trex Company. Founded in 1990, SC Company is composed of SC Railing, which offers custom-designed engineered railing solutions for stadium and arena facilities, as well as architectural and aluminum railing systems for commercial and high-rise applications, and Staging Concepts, which supplies staging equipment for the global performing arts, sports, and event production markets. The Trex Commercial Products subsidiary will operate out of the existing SC Company facilities in Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Fort Mill, S.C., with financial results reported under Trex Commercial Products. SC Company is projected to have annual revenues of approximately $56 million in 2017, and addresses a market estimated at over $1 billion.
