This is certainly not the first time we've heard of the use of drones. A number of residential contractors are leaning on quadrocoptors and other UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) for inspecting hard-to-access areas and capturing aerial work views (see "Drone Building Inspections," 7/23/14).
But the way in which Allied Remodeling of Baltimore, Md. is employing UAVs is the first we've heard about a residential remoder banking on drones to replace labor, or heard an estimate on expected savings - up to $80,000 annually.
