LAYING MARBLE AND GRANITE TILES Although marble and granite were prized building materials long before any of us were building, they fell out of favor in the early '60s and remained out of favor for a long time. But judging from my last few years of invoices, stone is back in style. What was only an occasional request ten years ago now makes up nearly half of my business as a tile contractor.
