Although home improvement businesses are more niched than other franchise markets, franchisor Kathleen Kuhn of HouseMaster Home Inspection, in Bound Brook, N.J., believes it hasn’t made selling franchises any more difficult. “I think it helps to be focused on what you do best,” she says.
With 25 years of experience, Kuhn and her husband, Mike, have developed the marketing tools that enable them to offer a pre-packaged opportunity to franchisees. Kuhn says, “HouseMasters has already built the foundation, providing access to expertise, ongoing business support, and business management strategies to increase the likelihood of success.”
Fifty-five franchises offer similar packages, making franchising a desirable, and perhaps more favorable, option than starting a new business from the ground up.
