A green building standard adopted in April, 2008 becomes fully effective this fall in Dallas, Texas, according to a report from the Environmental News Network (for the full item, see: "Green Building is Now the Law in Dallas," by Stuart Kaplow). "All new projects must either: meet the minimum requirements of the Dallas Green Construction Code or be LEED certifiable or be Green Built Texas certifiable or be certifiable under an equivalent green building standard," ENN reports. "Projects need only be 'certifiable' and not LEED certified nor Green Built Texas certified." One compliance path: the project can meet the Dallas Green Construction Code, a locally amended version of the International Green Construction Code.
