ITW Buildex added three cracked concrete and seismic approved threaded rod screws and a redesigned version of its pole tool to its Sammys Anchor solutions line.

The new rod screw was unveiled at this year's World of Concrete and is part of a line of anchors for fastening threaded rod to concrete, steel, and wood substrates. The screws are forged from steel and come in three versions: a vertical design (CCST 516) , a sidewinder (SW-CCST 516) and a swivel head (SH-CCST 516). The swivel head moves up to 89° to eliminate thread distortion. According to the manufacturer, these are the first and only such products of their kind.

The screws' heads allow the nut driver tool being used for installation to automatically spin after the anchor is installed. The screws also feature advanced threadform technology which reduces installation torque and increases pullout performance and it's Blue Delta Seal provides extended corrosion protection.

The new pole tools are drill extensions that allow the tradesman to stand on the floor and drill holes and place fasteners in ceilings high overhead. They now come fully assembled and ready to use right out of the box. They work with any vertical Sammys anchoring system, including: wood, steel, or concrete products. ITW cut down the number of pole tools it offered under the Sammys brand from four offerings to two with the shorter pole tool reaching 4 to 12 feet and the taller product reaching from 6 to 18 feet. The tool is designed so that the socket will spin free once the screw is completely installed.
