Check out how this deck builder uses a water level instead of a laser. He says that in situations where lasers aren’t necessarily the best tool—laying out level around corners, for example—going all Egypt-and-pyramid-builder style (I have no idea if the pyramid builders used water, so take that with a grain of papyrus) hacks the Matrix better than the satellite uplink level of tool complexity we rely on every day. Interesting approach.
